Why Use LinkSort?

LinkSort can help you organize your favorite web sites! If you visit Internet Cafés or use different browsers often, maybe you should sign up -- it's free!

LinkSort stores all the different places you like to visit on the net. It's like `Bookmarks' or `Favorites' in browsers; but they only work if you use the same browser all the time! So they don't help if you surf at home and at work, or if you visit an Internet Café.

LinkSort is like a free web page, but without the hassle of writing HTML. If you have your own web page, LinkSort can still help you stay organized -- display any LinkSort public category in your page live, so when you make changes here, they show up in your web page automatically!

LinkSort is password-protected, so you can keep some favorite sites just to yourself, and publish others for everyone to see. And you can organize your links in whatever way makes sense to you -- you're not restricted to anyone else's categories.

LinkSort is easy to use. You can upload your bookmarks to list all your current favorites on LinkSort, so it's useful from the moment you sign up. It's easy to add links -- you can email them to your LinkSort account, or keep a background browser window pointed to LinkSort, and just cut-and-paste.

Extra features will be available to LinkSort subscribers! These include automatic link updates, custom category descriptions, customizable graphics, searching, and intelligent merges. For more information about these features, see the Features for Subscribers section.

How Easy Is It, Really?

Okay, you can't just hit a key to add a link to your LinkSort directory -- but it's close! Keep a background browser window open to LinkSort, and it's as easy as cut-and-paste. Or just send the page as e-mail to `your-id@linksort.com' -- that's how easy it is.

If you use Netscape Communicator, you can upload your bookmarks right away. Soon, you should be able to upload your bookmarks from Lynx or your favorites from Internet Explorer. Your bookmarks are instantly accessible to you from any browser on the web, but they are password protected, so no one else can see them, until you make them public.

If your list of favorite sites is large, you will want to keep them organized. With LinkSort, you can divide your sites into as many categories as you like - you can even put your categories in categories! All this is accomplished with simple forms; just click the box beside the links you want to move, click the category in which you want those links displayed, and click 'Move.' It's just as easy to copy categories and links, or make them private or public.

Features for Subscribers

Automatic Link Updates
LinkSort will periodically visit all your favorite sites for you, and will keep your list up-to-date if any of them have moved or are no longer available.
Custom Category Descriptions
Add descriptions to your categories, not just your links!
Searching
Even if your LinkSort directory is well-organized, sometimes you're not sure exactly where you put a link! Subscribers can use LinkSort's search facility to find that stray link...
Intelligent Merges
Just because you're using LinkSort, doesn't mean you have to stop using bookmarks in your browser! Both members and subscribers can upload and download bookmarks at any time, but for subscribers, LinkSort can figure out the differences for you, and merge new links into your existing directory automatically.

Since payment processing has not been fully tested, subscriber features are not yet available. As soon as we are set to process financial transactions, you will be able to subscribe and access these features.
